It can be overwhelming to look at Africa and see the suffering and tragedy. From the rampant AIDS epidemic, malaria, the nearly 25 million orphans, and the lack of clean water, education, and housing, the problems seem limitless. Still, in the midst of such darkness and suffering, there can be HOPE. May our work be produced by faith, may our labor be prompted by love, and may our endurance be inspired by hope.
If everyone does a little, it will become a lot. May we join together and join this movement. As a believer in Jesus Christ we are called to help the widowed, the orphaned, the poor, the ill, the broken, and the devastated. It is not a cause, it is an emergency. Why?
Because if we are not a part of what God has commissioned each one of us to do, then who will be a part of it? If we are not willing to be used, then who will He use? If we cannot give our money, our time, and our hearts to those who most desperately need it, where will the help come from? When we choose not to help the poor and needy we actually rob them.
